Don't take risks. If you feel a buzzing, a tingling from tap outlets and power outlets or sparks from power outlets call us immediately.

At Smartfix we are the first electrical business in Perth to offer a yearly electrical safety inspection plan for homes. Our AESIC (annual electrical safety inspection checklist) complies with current laws and regulations and will ensure that your home’s insurance policy is valid in case of any electrical fires or electrical faults.

This type of work is called preventative maintenance and simply reduces the risk of any unforeseen problems that may arise in the future. Like replacing your Car tyres, instead of waiting for them to explode while you are driving at 100km’s down the freeway, they are usually replaced in advance to eliminate these risks.

We offer the equivalent safety service to your home. Our annual electrical safety inspection checklist is a thorough procedure that we follow to test all the electrical safety features your home. Safety Switches are there to protect the cables in your roof space, appliances, plugged in equipment and will protect you and your family from Electric shock if any faults occur.

Why should you keep on top of your smoke alarm maintenance?

Whilst you sleep you lose your sense of smell; the job of a functional smoke alarm will alert you if there is smoke from a fire with a loud beeping noise. A small fire can escalate to an entire room in 2 to 3 minutes, the smoke detectors provide an early warning and time to evacuate.

If you don’t have functional smoke alarms;

  • You are 26% more likely to suffer serious injuries
  • You are 4 times more likely to die

These facts are provided by the Government of Western Australia - Department of Fire & Emergency Services.

  1. Test smoke detectors with a physical press of the button
  2. Test smoke detectors with a spray that should trigger the smoke detector
  3. Make sure the Smoke Alarm is within 10 years & Replace the battery within the smoke alarm
  4. Visual inspection of the switchboard to ensure that all circuits are protected with an RCD/RCBO (safety switch)
  5. Test RCD/RCBO (safety switch) with a physical push of the “TEST” button on the unit
  6. Test RCD/RCBO (safety switch) with an RCD Trip time tester to make sure it’s functional
  7. Check the Earth Stake is in good condition and sprayed with a coat of zinc spray
  8. Ensure that there is an “EARTH WARNING” tag on the earth rod cable
  9. Ensure that the main Earth cable is the correct size from the switchboard to the Earth Stake
